Pickering sits on Lake Ontario, borders Rouge National Urban Park, and has a GO station and Highway 401 close by. That mix is why it works for three kinds of people: those moving up, those moving down, and those moving out of the city.
I’m Andrew Shevtsov. I’ve been in real estate for 14 years and have helped sell 120+ homes across North, Central and East GTA. Pickering and Ajax are two of my core markets, and I’ll give you a straight read on both, with no brochure language.

Pickering neighbourhoods at a glance
- Bay Ridges and West Shore: the waterfront side. Frenchman’s Bay, the marinas, the Waterfront Trail, and the shops and cafés at the foot of Liverpool Road. A mix of older cottage-era homes and newer nautical-style builds.
- Rosebank, Rougemount and Dunbarton: established streets where you’ll see custom and luxury builds on larger lots.
- Highbush, Amberlea, Liverpool, Village East and Woodlands: established family neighbourhoods close to schools, parks, Pickering Town Centre and Highway 401.
- Duffin Heights, Brock Ridge and Rural Pickering: the newer subdivisions in the north end, with more recent townhomes and detached homes.
Not sure which one fits? Tell me what you’re leaving behind and what you want next, and I’ll point you to the streets worth walking.

If you’re selling in Pickering
- Price it right on day one. Marketing can’t rescue a wrong price. I’ll show you the comparable sales so you can see how we got there.
- Negotiation is the part I like best. Another agent once described me as “like a dog with a bone” when I’m on a file. I’ll take that.
- Sale and next purchase planned together. Many of my sellers are also buyers, so we plan both at once. If that’s your question, read Should I buy first or sell first?
If you’re buying in Pickering
I’ll find the homes that fit, tell you honestly which ones don’t, and negotiate on your behalf. My job is to make sure you never feel overly discouraged or overwhelmed, whatever the market is doing.
